The 40 meter system at Caltech was run by
the Caltech and University
of Michigan groups to collect data in the
gravitational wave channel
and about 100 channels of ancillary information
from the instrument
and environment. About a terabyte of data
was collected from the
40 meter system which is now stored on the
tape robot in the
Center for Advanced Computing Research (CACR).
The gravitational
wave strain sensitivity of the data is about
10^-18/sqrt(Hz).
The 40 meter data is opened to LSC members
for analysis by
proposal to the LSC/LIGO data analysis committee.
For part of the 40 meter run TAMA was also
operating and there is
about 20 hours of data during which both
instruments were operating
and logging data at comparable sensitivity.
The LIGO laboratory
and the LSC is assembling a small team lead
by Albert Lazzarini
to work with 40 meter and TAMA data together
to analyse for
coincidence events and cross correlation.
If you would like to
become part of this team please contact Al
and me. There is
need to keep the team small so as not overwhelm
the
TAMA group which had not considered interaction
with the LSC as
part of the initial plan.
