Sketchy Notes about Maintaining the Segment Lists

Files which are maintained by hand:

  badflags.txt
     List of bad or potentially bad conditions, with numerical values in the
     data quality bitmask.  See comment in the file for examples of referring
     to bad-flags in the seginfo files.

  S3H1_seginfo_work.txt
  S3H2_seginfo_work.txt
  S3L1_seginfo_work.txt

Script to distill information and write files with a version number:

  FreezeVersion
      
Files generated by doing 'FreezeVersion 0':

  S3H1v00_seginfo.txt
  S3H2v00_seginfo.txt
  S3L1v00_seginfo.txt
     Simply snapshots of S3H1_seginfo_work.txt, etc.

  S3H1v00_seginfo.html
  S3H2v00_seginfo.html
  S3L1v00_seginfo.html
     Versions of the seginfo files with some HTML mark-up.

  S3H1v00_segs.html
  S3H2v00_segs.html
  S3L1v00_segs.html
     Fairly compact, fixed-format lists of segments.  (May have more than
     one line for a given segment, if the bad-flag status changes during
     the segment.)  Include hyperlinks to *_seginfo.html files.

  S3H1v00_segs.txt
  S3H2v00_segs.txt
  S3L1v00_segs.txt
     Like S3H1v00_segs.html, etc., but without the hyperlinks.

Other interesting files:

  S3seglists.html
     Top-level web page, with links to lists, etc.

  seginfo_maintainer_notes.txt
     This file.
